Kellen's Christmas Teeth

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving (21st), Kellen got his teeth "decorated." In addition to the new "tinsel" he also had green and red bands put on them. Someone at Thanksgiving (was it Grandma?) joked that we didn't need a Christmas tree just put Kellen in the middle of the room with a few Christmas lights.

The first night they were hurting quite a bit, but since then he has done well with them. There are only brackets on the top, front teeth. He still has to wear the spreader for a few months yet and will get braces on the rest of his teeth later.

  1. Um-m-m, I hope Kellen's "Christmas teeth" (too cute!) don't have to be one of his Christmas gifts. (Christmas gifts shouldn't hurt, should they?)

  2. Awe, what a trooper! I was always so selfconscious of mine (I was also in high school) I'm glad he's wearing them proudly!

  3. Very cute! Matthew's friend had pink and green and I teased him incessently for being a boy with pink braces. I like red and green MUCH better! What a way to get into the spirit of the season!

  4. wow- I can't believe I didn't notice that yesterday at co-op! Ryan told me today that he couldn't share his fruit snacks with Kellen b/c he had "bracelets" on his teeth. Hee hee hee

  5. I love them. It seems to take some of the "pain" out of having to wear them by making it semi-fun. Years ago my younger brother had braces for 3 years! He had MANY color combinations! (By the way, he has BEAUTIFUL teeth now, so, hang in there:)

  6. My son has his ortho apt this week. I'll have to suggest he decorate for Christmas! He spent all fall wearing his favorite football teams colors. It really is the only fun thing about orthodontics!
