Moving in the Right Direction

Vivian's bili level is finally coming down. It is still high and they want to check her again on Friday, but at least it came down. We are still doing the blanket and sunny windows.

I didn't know what the blanket was either until we got it. It is phototherapy. It has a rectangular pad that gives off a blue light. You put it right on the baby's skin (back or belly). We put it inside her onesies. It helps it stay in place better. When we use it that way she has a blue glow. Nolan has a glow in the dark Care Bear. It is also a light blue. At night with the bili blanket Vivian looks like Nolan's Care Bear.

Thanks for all your prayers!

  1. Glad to hear it is getting better. Is she real orange looking? When Elise had jaundice she had that yellow/ orange look to her. She really clashed with some shades of pink. Well, hopefully, friday will be her last blood draw. I know that upsets babies and mommies.

  2. Praise the Lord for the improvement! We'll keep praying! I was thinking about how your days have been going with those daily trips (at least 45 minutes one way, right?). So decided to be thankful she is healthy in many other ways!

  3. Saw the update on Applehead's blog. Praise the Lord for the improvement! Should make it a bit easier to get into a different routine than rushing off to have bilirubin checked!
Still praying for y'all. Don't forget to enjoy spring along the way.
