New Chicks

I don't think I will ever tire of baby animals here at the farm. These started hatching yesterday.

  2. awwwww ~ How does such a cute little chick grow into such an ugly animal? It's like The Ugly Duckling in reverse. :D

  3. Cute, cute, cute! Some friends of ours just got 3 pullets, and will be raising them for eggs. Then it's into the frying pan, according to Chris. I imagine his daughter may have something to say about that when the time comes. Although my guess is that the neighborhood dog will get them first. My kids were fascinated with them. We had to tell them we couldn't have any because our little dog would eat them.

  11. I so want chickens! But, we live in town and I think it's illegal. I'd really like to eat free range eggs that didn't cost quite so much.

  12. How do your kids keep from giving the babies names and turning them into pets? A friend raises cattle and he knows that when his wife names a calf there's gonna be a fight when he sends it to market.
