Election Day in the Woods

We belong to a co-op that meets every other Tuesday. My children have made a lot of great friends and look forward to our meetings. This year our meeting happened to fall on election day. Because the building we meet in is a polling place, we thought we might have to cancel co-op for the week. Instead we decided to have co-op in the woods.

Yesterday we had round about 50 people here. (I never did get a count.) We had beautiful weather and lots of fun. Activities included a scavenger hunt, petting the animals, sack races, egg tosses, and eating apples tied to a string. (Or off the string as the case may be.) We also had hayrides and a campfire with s'mores. Everyone brought food to share and we feasted after all the activities. It was a wonderful day. Here are a few pictures:

  7. What a beautiful way to enjoy the day. The next four years are going to be so much better than the last eight. Thank God most of the country is smarter than the electorate of West Virginia:)

  8. Blue State Bonnie -I find your comments about West Virginians very offensive. Just because the majority of a group follows a certain opinion doesn't make it right. There were a lot of people that supported Hitler, too. Now don't take that comment wrong- I am not saying Obama is a Hitler. And I get a little tired of everyone blaming Bush for the current economic crisis. Has everyone forgotten that Clinton is the one that signed the NAFTA laws and basically gave Wall St the OK to gamble through the use of hedge funds? Maybe you need to check into some facts before letting yourself get carried away with all the charisma.

  9. Linda, I misspoke. I should have said, "...MOST of the electorate of West Virginia.

Here's something about your great senator Byrd from Wikipedia:

On May 19, 2008, Byrd released a statement endorsing Barack Obama (D-Illinois) for President of the United States. One week after the West Virginia Democratic Primary, in which Hillary Clinton defeated Obama by 41.32%,[49] Byrd said, "Barack Obama is a noble-hearted patriot and humble Christian, and he has my full faith and support."[50] In a written statement, Byrd called Obama "a shining young statesman, who possesses the personal temperament and courage necessary to extricate our country from this costly misadventure in Iraq." Obama went on to win the 2008 presidential election.
Do you think your senator is caught up in all the charisma?

Bush JUNIOR is the worst. He's just awful. Too bad for you that republicans spent the last 8 years defending that lazy, stupid, MEAN SPIRITED, guy. John McCain, a real
war hero and all around decent man had to pay the price for the disaster that is W.

    Anyway, I accept your apology.

  11. Sometimes it's best to just let them shoot themselves in the foot isn't it?! LOL I've been leaving my comments up too. I think people forget that while they are welcome to comment, my blog is MY SPACE and I am still entitled to my opinion.
