I don't know when it's open or how good it is, but it was listed on Local Harvest when I looked it up. amyamyd76https://www.blogger.com/profile/03944382272606338200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22053382.post-1149994277464408672006-06-10T22:51:00.000-04:002006-06-10T22:51:00.000-04:00I like your frugal friday blog. I wrote a whole post about that because I think it is important for folks to realize and think about. His is the one we have liked the best so far.Stephanie Appletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07411714132368771649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22053382.post-1149871644800667822006-06-09T12:47:00.000-04:002006-06-09T12:47:00.000-04:00I've tried to leave this comment 3 times now. Mayb...I've tried to leave this comment 3 times now. Maybe it'll work this time. I was checking out hillbillyhousewife's recipes and made her Magical Milk Shake. The way I made it, it was a bit goopier than a Wendy's Frosty. But definitely a keeper. I'm not supposed to have sugar or substitutes, except Sucannat (sp?), which is pretty strong-tasting. I used half the amount called for, and couldn't taste it! The chocolate taste is stronger, I guess. Plenty sweet for my taste, with just half the amount. Unfortunately, then started sneezing and a runny nose. (Did you know sugar suppresses the immune system? And fast, too.)
I've been pulling weeds and got to thinking about foraging. Found a couple of web sites. Wildman Steve Brill has really good photos and drawings to help identify plants you're eating what you think you are (pretty important), along with recipes. self-reliance.net had some good info too, but can't save anything off the site.
Did you notice on one site the tip about cutting up old venetian blinds to use for plant markers? I had just been thinking about those markers as I had planted some new perennials I wasn't familiar with.
Keep up the good work. Interesting!
Aunt Nancy http://www.wildmanstevebrill.com/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
